MockDPE Privacy Policy

MockDPE ("we", "our", "us") is an AI-powered aviation training application. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the MockDPE mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials through our authentication provider, Clerk. We do not store your password directly.

Voice Data

MockDPE uses your device microphone to capture voice input during training sessions. Your audio is transmitted to OpenAI's Whisper service for speech-to-text transcription. Voice recordings are processed in real time and are not permanently stored on our servers. Audio files are temporarily created during a session for playback purposes and are automatically deleted shortly after use.

Session Data

We store your session transcripts, performance scores, and training progress to provide session history, debrief reports, and progress tracking features. This data is associated with your user account.

Payment Information

Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We never collect, store, or have access to your credit card number, CVV, or full payment card details. Stripe provides us only with a transaction confirmation and subscription status.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide AI-powered checkride oral exam simulation
• To transcribe your voice input and generate AI examiner responses
• To track your training progress, weak areas, and session history
• To manage your account and subscription
• To improve the quality and accuracy of our training content

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate MockDPE:

• OpenAI — Speech-to-text transcription (Whisper), AI conversation (GPT-4o), and text-to-speech synthesis. Voice audio and conversation text are sent to OpenAI for processing. OpenAI's data usage policies apply to this processing. See OpenAI's Privacy Policy.

• Stripe — Subscription billing and payment processing. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your data is only shared with the third-party services listed above as necessary to operate the application.

5. Data Retention

Session data and training progress are retained as long as your account is active. Voice recordings are ephemeral and not permanently stored. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), secure token-based authentication, and access controls on our infrastructure.

7. Children's Privacy

MockDPE is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Withdraw consent for data processing
